Bodywork by Design is a home studio located in Colorado Springs’ historic west side, where all are welcome.
My name is Gabriela and I began my bodywork journey in 2008 at Educating Hands School of Massage in Miami, FL. I studied kinesiology, anatomy, pathology, and palpation techniques, as well as a variety of bodywork modalities. Having worked in the hospitality industry for years, I had encountered people from all walks of life struggling daily with chronic pain and illness, injuries, mobility issues, insomnia, stress, and depression. I wanted to create positive change in people’s lives while developing a deeper connection with my fellow humans. Massage therapy became the perfect channel for me to work one-on-one with people, create meaningful relationships, set goals, and achieve positive, life-changing results.
Massage and bodywork is a broad and ever-evolving path, and I love continuously learning and growing in my field. Some of my specializations include: Himalayan salt stone therapy, traditional Thai massage on the table, cupping therapy, myofascial M2TBlade tool, trigger point therapy, assisted stretching, and hydrotherapy. I incorporate all of these tools in my practice, and since graduating massage school in 2009 I have continued to grow my skill set to better serve my clients.
In 2010 I traveled to Thailand for a 4-week intensive training to become certified in Traditional Therapeutic Thai Massage through the Old Medicine Hospital Thai Massage School Shivagakomarapaj, pioneers of Northern style of Traditional Thai massage. In 2024 I became certified as a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor through the National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM) which empowered me to provide postural assessments, and recommend exercises and stretching techniques to my clients that complement the work we do in session. I also completed 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Cambio Yoga in Colorado Springs. Yoga holds depths of healing powers- physically, emotionally, spiritually- that I’ve just begun to explore and share with clients.
My approach to each individual is as unique and customized as the individual themself and based on a thorough intake. I want to know your history and current state – physically, mentally, emotionally – as well as what you wish to achieve from your session. Whether you need help finding peace and relaxation; or you suffer from chronic pain that is limiting your mobility; or you are an avid athlete seeking peak physical and mental performance- I want to help you find balance and attain your goals.
Together, through massage and bodywork, we can help you heal yourself to feel yourself, so you can experience life at its fullest. Check out my service menu to learn more, and to book your first session.
When I’m not with my clients, I am enjoying time with my pup, Buckley- out hiking, paddling, snowboarding, cycling, camping, gardening; or inside with my kitty, Ophelia, enjoying a book, movie, music, podcast, cooking or crafting.
